Canadian Provincial Nominee Program

The Bomza Law Group is a leading legal representative of H1B visa holders applying to successfully secure Canadian permanent residence under the Alberta Canadian permanent residence program.

What is the Alberta immigration program for H1-B visa holders in the US?

Holders of certain work permits in the US will qualify for Canadian Permanent Residency through the Strategic Recruitment Stream pilot program introduced by the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Pursuant to this relatively new program, persons holding US work visas do not require a job offer and do not need a Canadian employer or a Canadian sponsor. Rather, US work visa holders can apply based on their own qualifications and the fact that they hold a work visa in the US. This program provides expedited processing of qualified applicants.

Do I Qualify?

Applicants must meet the following criteria under the pilot project:

  • The applicant is working in the US and is in the possession of an H-1B, H1-B1, H-1C, or E-3 visa
  • The applicant has completed a minimum of one year of work experience in the United States holding the work visa
  • The applicant's occupation is on the Regional Occupations Under Pressure list for Alberta
  • Filing your application for Canadian permanent residence under the Alberta immigration program will not have any negative impact on your H1-B status.
